FAQs

What’s the key difference between Titanium Grade 2 and Grade 2H if their chemical composition is the same?

While both Grade 2 and Grade 2H share the same chemical composition (UNS R50400), the difference lies in mechanical certification requirements.

Grade 2H is not a different alloy, but a higher-performance version of Grade 2, produced and tested under tighter mechanical property standards. It is certified to meet minimum strength requirements, such as:

  • Yield Strength ≥ 380 MPa
  • Tensile Strength ≥ 480 MPa

This makes Grade 2H suitable for pressure-rated components, such as ASME Code pressure vessels, where documentation of strength is mandatory. The “H” stands for “High strength compliance”, not for heat treatment or hardness.

In short:

Grade 2 = Standard mechanicals
Grade 2H = Verified high-strength Grade 2

Is Titanium Grade 2H weldable?

Yes, but it may require controlled preheating and post-weld treatment, especially in critical applications.

What does EN 10204 3.2 certification mean?

It’s a third-party witnessed certificate verifying the material meets the requirements, often mandatory in EPC and offshore projects.

What temperature limits apply for Grade 2 use?

Grade 2 performs well up to ~400°C. Beyond that, Grade 5 or other alloys should be considered.

How fast can you deliver to GCC countries like Oman or Qatar?

From Dubai stock, delivery is typically 5–10 working days. Special sizes may take 2–3 weeks.

Testing & Certifications
All alloy products are supplied with full traceability and testing documentation in compliance with international standards.

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):

Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
Radiographic Testing (RT)
Positive Material Identification (PMI / XRF)
Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)

Destructive Testing (DT):

Tensile Strength
Hardness
Flattening / Flaring Tests

Chemical & Mechanical Analysis:

• Precise chemical composition analysis (including C, N, O, H, Fe, and relevant elements)

• Mill Test Certificates (MTC) per EN 10204 3.1 standard – 3.2 certification available upon request
• Third-party inspection and certification available (SGS, BV, etc.)

All test reports are traceable to heat number and batch, ensuring full quality assurance for industrial, marine, aerospace, and EPC projects.

Smart Message

Grade 2 – Corrosion Resistance, Standard Strength
“The industry’s favorite titanium – tough, weldable, and always ready.”
Grade 2 is where reliability meets availability.

Titanium Grade 2 (UNS R50400)

Stronger CP titanium with good weldability. Widely used in industrial, chemical & marine systems.

Sheet, Plate, Strip (ASTM B265)

For vessels, exchangers, general industrial use | Pickled

Seamless / Welded Pipe (ASTM B861 / B862)

For pressure lines, media transport | MTC + NDT

Bar, Rod (ASTM B348)

For structural, marine, aerospace parts | Turned, polished

Heat Exchanger Tube (ASTM B338)
