Inconel 617 is used in high-temperature applications such as gas turbines, petrochemical reformers, and heat exchanger components due to its excellent mechanical strength and oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures.
Inconel 617 offers superior high-temperature strength and creep resistance compared to 625 and 800H, especially above 900°C. It also has better oxidation and carburization resistance.
Yes. It can be welded using TIG or MIG processes with matching filler (e.g., AWS ERNiCrCoMo-1). Preheating is not typically required, but post-weld heat treatment may improve performance in critical uses.
It is suitable for high-heat and low-pressure nuclear components but not for environments with strong hydrogen embrittlement. For H₂-rich or reducing environments, consult project-specific specs.

Inconel 617 – Made for Extreme Heat
Combining high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance, and metallurgical stability, Inconel 617 is the gold standard for petrochemical reformers, turbine combustors, and thermal reactors.
Performs when other superalloys fail.
Inconel 617 is a solid-solution strengthened, nickel-based superalloy for prolonged service in high-temp oxidizing atmospheres.
• Hot-rolled and annealed for furnace & structural use
• Common in ducting and catalyst support structures
• Designed for heat-transfer and reformer tubes
• Hydrotested with tensile and creep verification
• Used in gas turbine disks, fasteners, furnace fixtures
• Cold-drawn or hot-finished; ground or turned finishes
Inconel 625 – Marine & chemical resistance + good high-temp
Inconel 600 – General heat & corrosion alloy
Incoloy 800H – Cost-effective for heat treatment up to 1000°C
Haynes 230 – Advanced thermal stability at extreme temperatures
