Primarily in chemical plants (sulfuric, phosphoric, nitric acid units), offshore platforms, marine exhausts, pickling equipment, and waste treatment. It’s chosen when both acid and chloride resistance are required.
Yes. Incoloy 825 has higher nickel and includes molybdenum and copper for better stability in highly reducing and oxidizing environments. It offers more comprehensive resistance compared to 904L in mixed acid systems.
Absolutely. It performs well in both stagnant and flowing seawater and is resistant to localized attack such as pitting and crevice corrosion.
Yes. Use standard GTAW or SMAW processes with ERNiCrMo-3 or similar fillers. Preheating is not necessary. Post-weld heat treatment is typically not required unless specified.
Incoloy 825 is generally used up to ~540°C. It’s not designed for high-stress high-temperature service like Incoloy 800H, but it resists scaling and remains stable in moderately high-temperature acidic media.
Yes, when ordered and tested accordingly. It is commonly specified for sour service in oil & gas applications.
Plates and pipes are typically supplied in annealed and pickled (descaled) condition. Custom surface finishes (e.g. 2B, BA, polished) are available on request.
